The following account, written in long hand by Mary Jane Myers Arnold anddated March 8, 1939. A LITTLE HISTORY OF OUR MARRIED LIFE The wedding 30th Dec 1886 was a beautiful winter day on the 30th dayof December. We started out as Husband and wife. At the wedding werethe Reb. D. H. Workman who united us and his wife. Walker McCuen andwife. Penny McCuen and Lena, Brot her Amos and wife, Brother John, hiswife, and daughter Mayme. Kate Carter, Jim Mosser, my father David Myersand my mother. We lived at my fathers house 1 1/2 years. Dec. 30, 1887 Clement Wayne was born and in the spring of 1888 we movedto the Fred Cassel Farm south of the College, lived there one year thenin the spring of 1889 we moved to the Moherman farm now occupied by TullyMoherman. Was hired by the yea r and in March 16, 1889 Ralph Wiley wasborn in March 1890 moved back home on account of my health. Lived therethe following summer and on Sept 19, 1890 harry Edwin was born and inthat fall 1890 moved to the Penny McCuen farm rented money rent $7 5 for25 acres per year. Then in the fall of 1891 moved back home as Amos wasmoving to Akron and we were going to run the farm and on Dec. 30 1891Father died and on March 29, 18892 Paul was born and in the spring of1893 we moved to Shelby on the Cutler farm and that fall moved back tothe Sammy Thornburg farm and Jan. 7, 1894 Blanche was born. We livedthere three years and Oct 29, 1895 Earl was born. In the fall of 1897 wemoved to the Reuben Foss farm and in 18998 Feb 24 George William wasborn. In the spring of 1899 we moved to the Will Morr farm on the Feb.26, 1900 Marion Thomas was born. We lived there almost 6 years and in1905 we moved to the will Brindle farm and in the spring of 1906 we movedto Wayne Co. on the Rumbaugh farm and in 1908 moved to the Miller farmand that fall Nov. 17 harry died was buried the 20th in 1909 we moved tothe Funk farm lived there till the spring of 1914 we bought the Pittingerfarm 1916 we built the barn in Feb 19, 1919 mother passed a way and in1920 Vira left us in 1921 we bought and moved to the Will Worst propertyin Pleasant Home. Howard Kulp rented the farm rented one year moved toPauls and they moved to Wooster. Feb. 23, 1922 Blanche passed away. was buried the 25th. The summer 1922Daddy drove back and forth to the farm and farmed. 1923 Ross McClurerented the farm, 1924 McClure moved away. and Henry Shaum rented, stayedone year. 1925 we moved back to P leasant Home. Ralph stayed two yearsand in 1930 we moved back to farm to stay and no other place is so muchlike home as the farm. So plentiful we have always had and the bestplace to be. And in the fall of 1935 a sad event occurred. Marion being killed inAirplane crash Oct. 30 was buried Nov. 3 at Lodi was home on a visit just5 weeks before he was killed. Now we are here just waiting for the end to come. (s) Mrs. T. M. Arnold, March 9, 1939 Mrs Arnold died of colon cancer was was buried on Sept. 5, 1941exactly 1 year to the day when Jim Grady and Geraldine Arnold weremarried.[leyda.FTW]
