Notes for Mary Ann McMillan

John Eyman died intestate at the relatively young age of 53. As a result of his early death he had 4 children who were minors and by law had to have guardians placed over them until reaching the age of 18. His wife, Mary Ann McMillan, lived for 29 years after his death.
His brothers-in-law, Henry Farrar and Charles Landes, were named administrators of the estate on 11 May 1847.
Jacob Eyman, a brother, was named guardian for Abraham, Ann, Isaac, and Adam. The court documents were dated 22 Sept. 1847. Anna Laura, or Ann, later married Wm. Henry Albright and became the writer's Great Grandmother.
The personal property of John Eyman was sold on 17 June 1847 and amounted to $1,484.44. The real estate was disposed of later.
The brothers, Adam, Abraham and Isaac, were all listed as members of the Ohio Militia in 1857 and residing in Franklin Township, Wayne County, OH.
John and Mary Eyman are buried in the Oak Hill Cemetery, located on Rt. 83 south of Wooster.[leyda.FTW]
