Notes for George Gantz
In the source book indicated on the previous page, it was stated that three Arnold men came to America together. They were John George, Samuel and Daniel. (N.B. JMG John George was also the father of Samuel and Daniel. John George had a son named John George also. The elder John George died in 1767 and the younger died in 1790 as stated below. The elder John George married Margaret Albaugh)
In the will of John George, which was probated in Frederick County, MD in 1790 he names sons, John, Jr., Samuel, Zachariah, Daniel and David. The will was dated 1785.
The Gantz (Gans) and Arnolds were all German Dunkers.

Talking about the Brethren church at Sandy Creek Glade: or possibly Georges Creek.*
"Another early family of the same period was Jacob Gansz, Sr. He arrived with his three sons, George, Joseph and Jacob, Jr. and daughter, Anna, who married an Arnold. (One of the sisters of Samuel, Daniel and Zachariah Arnold of Beaver Run had married a Ganz. possibly one of the sons of Jacob Ganz, Sr.)(Susannah Arnold, daughter of John and Mary Albaugh Arnold)
*Georges Creek flows westward into the Monongahela River in Pennsylvaniajust north of Morgantown, W. VA. Its mouth is not far from Dunkard's Creek which flows eastward into the same River.
