Notes for Leonard Sink

[master.FTW]

Leonard Sink left Germany at the age of 17 , arriving in America Oct 12, 1738 aboard the ship "Fox". He became a naturalized citizen on Apr 11, 1751 at Philadelphia PA

Sons Jacob and Abraham and a John Sink (another brother?) saw service in the revolutionary war in Capt Jacob Davis' Co, Berks Co Militia. If John sink was a son he was apparently gone before Leonards 1805 will.
Leonard and his wife had between 100-144 acres in Robeson Twp, Berks Co PA. Leonards farm was near the historic Hopewell Furnace (National historic site) in Berks Co. and he and his sons worked there at different times both full and part time according to the furnace account books.

the naturalization papers indicated Leonard was of the Quaker faith.

Leonards will was written on Dec 15,1805 and the property inventoried Jan 11, 1809[oldodie.FTW]
