of 189

Looking for parents and siblings of Rudolph Kindig born 10/10/1803 died Jan 31 1885, wife named Nancy? I believe he was born near Lancaster PA, Had son Daniel Henry Kindig b. 11/30/1836 d. 3/22/1909 who married Charlotte Melott in Holmes Co Ohio. around 1860
Also Rudolph had a son John Kindig and three daughters name unknown. any info appreciated. The family tree is at www.odenkirk.com

Kindig, Rudolph early 1800s Lancaster PA by Cliff Odenkirk of 189

I have found that Rudolph was born near Little York PA 1803 The following information came form the records of the Shreve, Bigelow and Moorehead Methodist Churches. This is what pertaining to Rudolph. "Kindig is now ‎(july 12 1878)‎ the oldest living member of the Biglow Society. He was born in York County Pa. near Little York , Oct 5, 1803. Moved with his father to Cumberland Co. Pa. in 1807. In June of 1831 he moved to Ohio, stopped one year at Millbrook and in the spring of 1832 settled on the farm where he now resides. He was converted and united with the M. E Church Oct 8 1827 and was united in marriage to Nancy Munhall in December of the same year. He united by letter with the Millbrook Society when he came to Ohio and two years after was attatched to the clap at Hollipeters. Mrs Nancy Kindig was born in Cumberland Co. Pa 1802 and died January 9, 1858. Father Kindigs house for many years was the preaching place and since his first cabin was erected in 1832, he furnished a home for the weary itinerant" Nancy Munhall was the sister of James Mulhall. He originally owned the farm next to your Rudolph. John S Mulhall was James' son. Land records show Rudolph and James both bought their land late in 1831 and I believe they may have traveled from Cumberland Co. to Ohio together.

Rudolph also had 3 daughters, and believed to have lived in Lancaster CoPA
land records show Rudolph Kindig ‎(159 Acres)‎ owned land in Ripley TwpHolmes County Ohio and the adjacent landowner was John S Mulhall ‎(160acres)‎. Bigelow Church is connected to what was the Rudolph Kindigproperty. Probably why he has 159 acres in stead of 160. A later plat mapshows Rudolphs 159 divided into L F Mulhall 40 acres S & M Kindig 61acres ‎(daughters Susan and Mary listed in 1880 census)‎ D H Kindig‎(Daniel)‎ 19 acres. G W Drushel 39 acres. The adjacent Mulhall property isdividid in to 4- 40 acre sections on the later plat map. Leonard Mulhall,Teresa Mulhall, Rhoda Powell and James H Mulhall. Records show Rudolphsettled in Ohio in 1830, John Mulhall in 1836 This certainly adds to theidea that the Kindigs and the Munhall Mulh alls are connected. The Bigelowchurch cemetery has in addition to the Kindigs buried there, thefollowing. John S Mulhall Oct 8 1818 Nov 10 1899 wife Maria Feb 7 1823July 9 1900 Teressa 1848-1924 Leonard 1855-1932 wife Margaret A 1875-1955John W 1 906-1922 The following information came form the records of theShreve, Bigelow and Moorehead Methodist Churches.
