Paul David Grady was born September 16, 1887 in East Union Twp., WayneCounty, Ohio.
He attended local primary schools and on completion was not 100%sure that he wanted to pursue the occupation of farming as his ancesorsof many generations had done. He enrolled in Wooster Business School andthen decided to explore other are as of the United States. He and acousin by marriage, Stewart Giffen, spent a year near Garden City, Kansasworking on a ranch/wheat farm. Having sowed his "wild oats" he returnedto Wooster, Ohio and married Mary Albright, whom he had been courti ng formany months.
After marriage they settled in Wooster where Paul worked for a whileat the Wooster Brush Factory. After this they then rented farms forseveral years in the area east and south of Wooster before buying a farmin Chester Township in 1921. The y remained on that farm until retirementabout 1959. While on the farm they were both active in Church and Grangeactivities. Among the Grange activities Paul managed the Chester GrangeSoftball Team for several years and managed to win the Wayne CountyGrange championship. Paul had a reputation as a self taught veterinarianand was called on many times to treat ailing cows and horses of hisneighbors. He was an avid card player and in his later years enjoyednothing more than a good compe titive game of bridge. He was also a goodteacher of moral values that he passed on to his children.
On retirement, they moved to Poplar St. in Wooster until such timeas Paul suffered a series of strokes and ended his days in a couple ofretirement communities in Wooster and the area.‎[leyda.FTW]‎
