Monday, January 15, 1973 Fulton Co Obits Floyd O. Kindig Floyd O. KINDIG, 60, former Rochester city councilman, died Sunday morning at his home in Oxnard, Cal., where he had resided the past six years. Death followed an illness of nine years. Mr. Kindig served on the City Council here from 1956-60. He formerly managed Wile's department store and, until illness forced his move to California for a change of climate, he owned and operated the Kindig Floor Covering store. He was a veteran of Navy service in World War II, was a member of the Leroy Shelton American Legion post and a past commander of the Manitou post of Veterans of Foreign Wars. He was a member and former elder of the United Presbyterian church here and a member of the Rochester Masonic lodge and the Royal Arch lodge. Born May 7, 1912, in Rochester, he was the son of Cleve and Ethel EASTERDAY KINDIG and had spent most of his life in this city. His marriage was Feb. 15, 1933 in Chicago to Dorothy DOW, who suvives. Also surviving are his mother, R.R. 3, Rochester; one daughter, Mrs. Rich (Lucinda) McLOCHLIN, Rochester; three sons, William [KINDIG], Ojai, Cal., Alex and Philip [KINDIG], both of Oxnard, Cal.; one brother, Virgil [KINDIG], Memphis, Tenn., and seven grandchildren. One brother, Charles [KINDIG], and a sister, Mrs. Pauline HEINZMANN, preceded in death. Last rites are incmplete. The Zimmerman Brothers funeral home will be in charge. Tuesday, January 16, 1973
Floyd O. Kindig Final rites will be at 2 p.m. Thursday for Floyd O. KINDIG at the Zimmerman Brothers funeral home. Mr. Kindig died Sunday morning at his home in Oxnard, Cal. Burial will be in the Rochester I.O.O.F. cemetery and the Rev. Allen JUMP will officiate. Friends may call at the funeral home after 2 p.m. Wednesday. The Masonic lodge will conduct memorial services at 8 p.m.Wednesday at the funeral home.
